Sorry, Vol. 5 & 6 are sold out in VHS.

Vol. 1 - This is the first set of arts that is taught to beginning students in Professor Henry S. Okazaki's Danzan Ryu Jujitsu Class in Honolulu. Yawara is composed of 20 arts but could easily multiply into 100 arts and is the most effective, quick and could be very painful. These arts could end with a kick, throw, choke, joint lock or even a grappling technique just by grabbing your hand, wrist, or even your clothing. Yawara could be very slow in the beginning of the application or in a fluid but relaxed motion and still be very effective and could cause a lot of pain. These arts were some of the favorites of Professor John K. Cahill who, along with Professor Okazaki, wanted these arts elevated to a higher level. Included in this video are some advanced techniques of Yawara. (45 min.)

Vol. 2 - Shime No Kata techniques are submission and grappling combinations usually done after a throw. These arts could cause great pain or serious injury to your opponent; caution must be exercised when applying these techniques. It is also a great conditioning exercise while training with your partner with continued speed, power and endurance. Mutual trust, respect and understanding of these arts are very important because with the chokes and armbars these techniques must be done with great care and allow your opponent to use matte(stop) when it is necessary. Professor Henry S. Okazaki had visions of seeing his arts practiced all over the United States and never dreamed that one day it would be practiced all over the world. Also in this video are techniques that are used in Judo, Sambo, Sport Jujitsu and Wrestling. (56 min.)

Vol. 3 - Nage No Kata is the throwing arts, which is very similar to the throwing arts of Kodokan Judo except the names are different. They may have a slight variation to the techniques but not noticeable to the beginner student. Also included in this video are some advanced techniques that you may see at a high level Judo tournament, Sport Jujitsu, Sambo or even at Wrestling competition. Professor Henry S. Okazaki had visions of seeing his art elevated to a higher level, as you will see this in the demonstrations. These are some of the ways that Judo and Jujitsu have progressed since the beginning of the Danzan Ryu System of Jujitsu and to quote Professor Okazaki, "Since the fundamental principal acquired through the practice of Jujitsu has been elevated to a finer moral concept called Judo, The Way of Gentleness, it may well be said that the primary objective of practicing Judo is perfection of character". (45 min.)
