It was imported by Mitsuyo Maéda (1879-1941) and later develop by the Gracie family. It’s a young martial art and still evolving. Steming from Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is ground wrestling that can be practiced with or without a kimono.
